Sailing to Enjoy a Swim

Gardiner's Bay has the Best Sailing Waters

Labor Day weekend is all but at hand. Crowds, weather permitting, will be all over all the east end beaches. What I have been doing for years is sailing out in Gardiner’s Bay until I spot a deserted beach, bring the boat into 4 foot water, drop the anchor, and go for a blissful swim.

There is no parking problem, just pristine clear salt water and the unspoiled beauty that makes up so much of the real estate touching Gardiner’s Bay. This is not a new idea, or an original idea this is a reminder to all boats owners of all sorts, time is running out for those special off boat swims.

Make time , bring your family members or special friends with you and swim in the silence of seclusion from the noisy usual beach crowds. I do believe the greatest pleasures in my life come from the simplest things. A wonderful summer day swim in Gardiner’s Bay is such a thing.
