SAG HARBOR, NY — Students teamed up to help spotlight autism in Sag Harbor recently.

Sag Harbor Elementary School students held a basketball tournament before the spring recess to support National Autism Awareness Month. Before playing hoops, Principal Matthew Malone discussed autism and the part that each student can play in promoting inclusion and a true appreciation of the uniqueness of all individuals.

National Autism Awareness Month is held in April to encourage communities to act to assure that each person with autism spectrum disorder is provided the opportunity to achieve the highest possible quality of life.
