What Our Readers Think: Cop Identified in Alleged East Hampton Sex Scandal

On Monday, law-enforcement sources identified Julio Mario Galeano, 31, as the village cop facing disciplinary action — and possible criminal charges over an alleged sexual encounter he had in a village house he didn't have permission to be at. Galeno, who was named cop of the year in 2012, was allegedly caught having sex with a part-time village employee, who has since been fired, inside a house he wasn't suppose to be at has been identified.
Patch readers had a lot to say about the news, many questioning why Galeno was placed on leave while the woman he allegedly had sex with was fired. The following is a round-up of their comments. Feel free to keep the conversation going by adding your thoughts to the comment section below.
