1 Dead, 2 Injured In Southern State Crash
Police say a Chevy Malibu rear-ended a Jeep, causing the Jeep to roll over and kill the driver.
EAST MEADOW, NY — One person is dead and two are injured following a two-car crash on the Southern State Parkway early Saturday morning, police said.
According to New York State Police, troopers responded to a crash on the Southern State at 2:37 a.m. west of exit 17S.
Police say that a 2015 Jeep was heading west on the parkway when it was rear-ended by a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu. The impact caused the Jeep to roll over and come to a stop in the westbound lanes.

The driver of the Jeep — Terry H. Rivens, 55, of Jamaica — died at the scene. Saybien K. Barron, the driver of the Malibu, and Latrell K. Adams, the passenger, both 21, were taken to NYU Winthrop Hospital for treatment.
Police say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has any information, is asked to call the state police at 631-756-3300.
