11 Left Homeless By Westbury House Fire
Six adults and five children were left homeless by the fire, but there were no serious injuries.

WESTBURY, NY — A house fire in Westbury Thursday evening left 11 people homeless, but did not cause any serious injuries.
According to police, the fire started just before 6 p.m. at a home on Rockland Street. When emergency responders arrived, everyone had already safely evacuated from the home.
The Westbury Fire Department was assisted by firefighters from 11 other departments.

Police say one woman was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
Six adults and five children were left homeless by the fire. The Red Cross was contacted and will be providing temporary housing for the families.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
