Coastal Flood Advisories Issued, Stormy Friday Ahead
Check out the latest Long Island forecast, including for Mother's Day (yes, that's Sunday).

A stretch of dreary spring weather will continue into the weekend on Long Island.
But before we get to the first full weekend of May, coastal flood advisories will be in effect for Nassau and western Suffolk later Thursday. Minor to localized moderate flooding will be possible during times of high tide, the National Weather Service says. A flood advisory will be in effect from 7 to 10 p.m. for southern Nassau and southwestern Suffolk, and 9 p.m. to midnight for northern Nassau and northwestern Suffolk.
"There is no significant threat to life and any impact to property is minimal" the NWS says.
Friday will bring temperatures once again about 10 degrees below normal for this time of year, with a high near 54 and rain likely throughout the day. Thunderstorms will also be possible after noon.
The chance for showers will continue into Saturday morning, when things should dry up, at least for the rest of the day. More rain is in the forecast for Mother's Day on Sunday. Check out the detailed forecast below.

Friday Night- Showers likely, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. East wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Saturday- A chance of showers, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. East wind around 6 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Saturday Night- A chance of showers after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Sunday- A chance of showers before noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 62. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Sunday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 49.
