Dominick DeMasi of East Meadow wins Kellenberg Memorial's Most Improved Player for the Freshmen Track Team

East Meadow, Winter Athletes, Kellenberg, Track, Most Improved Player

On March 12, 2015, Kellenberg Memorial High School held a banquet to honor its winter athletes. Individual awards are given out to some of the more outstanding athletes. Head coach of the freshmen track team, Juan Estrella wrote this about Dominick. The most improved award goes to an athlete who represented the only freshman member of his event group. With that being said, Dominick DeMasi had to learn pretty fast the ways of the shot put world from his varsity teammates. They surely did provide him with a great deal of education behind the art that is throwing, and they made him feel comfortable as a new athlete to the sport. Dom improved by 5 whole feet from tryouts to the championship meet and earned a 2nd place finish at the freshman league championships. Dom will be looked upon next indoor season to carry the torch as a varsity athlete and mentor the next group of throwers eager to prove themselves just as Dom is. Our most improved award winner is Dominick DeMasi.
