Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano recently met with East Meadow residents, artist Max Shmuel and his wife, Pam.
Mangano presented the couple with a framed photo of the three of them taken with Max's replica of the American flag, which had been included in an art display earlier in the year.
Shmuel used only recycled wood in his patriotic piece.
