Flood Advisory Issued For Nassau County

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Nassau County. It's in effect until 9:15 p.m. Thursday.

Rainfall rates will reach up to a half to one inch per hour. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...Jersey City, Jamaica, Yonkers, Flatbush, New Rochelle, Flushing, Bayonne, Mott Haven, Levittown, Hoboken, East Tremont, Freeport,
Valley Stream, Long Beach and Glen Cove.
