Chicago kicked off their North American tour on Feb. 8 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. They continue to Arizona, California, Texas, Florida, North and South Carolina, Kentucky, and more. The band has their final show on August 2nd in Thackerville, Oklahoma at the WinStar World Casino and Resort. For those on Long Island, Chicago plays in Westbury for two shows on June 17th and 18th at the Theatre at Westbury.

One of the most popular rock bands from the late sixties and early seventies, Chicago formed in 1967. Based out of Chicago, the band originally called themselves the Chicago Transit Authority. They first started out as a statement band, writing politically focused songs. In the seventies they changed their style to one that was more soft rock…and they quickly shot to fame.

With continuous hits on through the eighties, in 2008 Chicago was ranked by Billboard as number 13 on the list of top 100 artists of all time. The band has sold more than 100 million records, making them one of the world’s best selling artists. One of their biggest success stories is being the first band ever to sell out performances at Carnegie for a continuous week.

Today Chicago is still performing and entertaining their fans with live performances. Last year on October 26 the band released their album “Chicago: Greatest Hits Live” which features a live performance from 2017 when they played the PBS series Soundstage.

A recent news release says of the band, “Chicago is the first American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in six decades. The band is now in their 50th consecutive year of touring without missing a single concert date”.
