The Great Pine Railway Comes To Old Westbury Garden

The huge model train exhibit features scaled Long Island landmarks and hundreds of feet of track.

OLD WESTBURY, NY — Starting this weekend, Old Westbury Gardens will be transformed into the Old Westbury Railway, as it hosts a large, outdoor model railroad exhibit for the first time.

The exhibit, the Great Pine Railway, opens this weekend and runs through Sept. 6. The large, G gauge model railroad is specially designed for Old Westbury Gardens, and features Long Island landmarks to make it unique.

Trains will run along hundreds of feet of brass rail. There are three track loops: the upper track has two bridges that guests can walk under, and two lower tracks. In total, there is more than 220 feet of track.
