The Halal Guys To Open First Nassau Location This Weekend
The restaurant is only the second one on Long Island for the popular chain.

The Halal Guys restaurant, known all over the New York metropolitan area for delicious food, plans to open its first Nassau County location this weekend in East Meadow.
Starting with food carts in New York City, The Halal Guys has been quickly spreading into brick-and-mortar locations all over the country. The chain opened its first Long Island location in Farmingdale last March.
Now, it's coming to Nassau, with a new restaurant opening on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 2565 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow. And the restaurant is throwing a celebration for the occasion.

The first 10 people in line at the store will receive free food and the first 100 will get free Halal Guys swag. There will also be a DJ there to provide entertainment for guests.
The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Food will be served as long as it's available (the Farmingdale location ran out of food on its opening day due to demand).

The Halal Guys began in 1990 as a hot dog cart in Manhattan. According to its website, the owners found that many Muslim cab drivers were looking for halal food, so the cart changed and started to serve chicken and gyro over rice. The food was a hit, and the business grew. Today, The Halal Guys have multiple food carts in Manhattan and a growing number of restaurants all over the country, as well as locations in Asia.
