Late-Night Fire Damages 3 Nassau Businesses
Firefighters from a half-dozen departments responded to get the blaze under control.

WESTBURY, NY — A fire broke out in a strip of stores in Westbury Tuesday night, damaging three of them.
According to sources, the call for the fire came in around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, with smoke coming from Ralph's Italian Ices on Carmans Road in Westbury. When firefighters arrived, they found the fire was located in an adjoining laundromat.
The fire also extended into B&G Delicatessen, located on the other side of the laundromat.

No one was in the buildings when the fire broke out.
Firefighters from Westbury, East Meadow, Levittown, Hicksville, North Bellmore, Wantagh and Uniondale all responded, and managed to get the blaze under control in about an hour.
