LIRR Announces Multiple Cancellations For Evening Commute

The Long Island Rail Road announced multiple cancellations to trains for the evening commute due to the winter weather.

Multiple trains on three branches, in both directions, have been canceled, and riders are going to be accommodated by later trains. Here are the cancellations announced so far, according to the LIRR:

Babylon Branch

• The 6:05 p.m. train from Penn due Wantagh at 6:51 p.m. Customers will be accommodated by the 6:10 p.m. train from Penn due Freeport at 6:54 p.m. with a stop at Rockville Centre, and all further stops to Wantagh.
• The 5:40 p.m. train from Penn due Seaford at 6:30 p.m. Customers will be accommodated by the 5:47 p.m. train from Penn due Freeport at 6:31 p.m. with a stop at Rockville Centre, and all further stops to Seaford.
• The 5:19 p.m. train from Penn due Wantagh at 6:06 p.m. Customers will be accommodated by the 5:24 p.m. train from Penn due Freeport at 6:10 p.m. with stops at Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Jamaica, Rockville Centre, and all further stops to Wantagh.
• The 4:57 p.m. train from Penn due Wantagh at 5:42 p.m. Customers will be accommodated by the 5:03 p.m. train from Penn due Freeport at 5:46 p.m, which will be extended to Wantagh. This train will stop at Merrick and Bellmore.

Port Jefferson Branch

• The 8:34 p.m. train from Huntington due Port Jefferson at 9:20 p.m. Customers will be accommodated to Port Jefferson by bus
• The 6:49 p.m. train from Stony Brook due Huntington at 7:56 p.m. Customers will be accommodated by bus.

Ronkonkoma Branch

• The 7 p.m. train from Farmingdale due Penn at 7:56 p.m. Customers will be accommodated by the 7:40 p.m. train from Farmingdale due Penn at 8:32 p.m.
• The 6:25 p.m. train from Farmingdale due Penn at 7:22 p.m. Customers will be accommodated by the 7:40 p.m. train from Farmingdale due Penn at 8:32 p.m.
