Man Charged in 16-Year-Old Shooting at Hicksville Wedding

The man was located in Trinidad and brought back to the U.S. the 1999 shooting at the Masonic Temple, cops said.

A Trinidad man has been charged in a 16-year-old shooting at a Hicksville wedding that left a Queens man dead, according to Nassau County Police.

On June 13, 1999, Balkumar Singh, 38, shot Abzal Khan, 19, several times with an automatic handgun, police said. The two were guests at a wedding at the Masonic Temple, located at 18 W. Nicholai St., and had argued before the shooting, officials said.

Singh fled the scene that day and was finally located in Trinidad on March 27, authorities said. Interpol took Singh into custody and U.S. Marshals arranged for his extradition back to the United States, police said.
