Michael Finkelman, Longtime East Meadow Firefighter, Dies

Former East Meadow Fire Department Chief Michael L. Finkelman died on Nov. 15. He was 65.

Finkelman dedicated his life to helping and protecting others. In addition to his time in the East Meadow Fire Department, he spent three decades in the Nassau County Police Department, and 33 years at the Nassau County Fire Service Academy. He was also a commissioner of the East Meadow Fire Department.

He leaves behind his wife, eight children, six grandchildren and many friends.
