Propane Tanks Explode In East Meadow House Fire
One home was destroyed and another damaged by the intense heat from the blaze.

EAST MEADOW, NY — Multiple homes caught fire in East Meadow Thursday night.
The blaze broke out shortly before 8:30 p.m. on 7th Street, east of Prospect Avenue. The fire also ignited two propane tanks on the side of the home, causing them to explode. The intense heat damaged the siding of a neighboring home.
Everyone in the home managed to make it out safely. One resident suffered a minor burn to their hand. No one else was injured.

The East Meadow Fire Department was assisted by the Bellmore Fire Department.
The Nassau County Police Department's Arson/Bomb Squad and the Nassau County Fire Marshal are investigating the fire.
