New Source Mall Owner Bringing Adventure Park To Property

WESTBURY, NY — Samanea New York has completed its renovation of the former Source Mall in Westbury, and has signed a new lease agreement with Empire Adventure Park to bring a new family entertainment center to the area.

Samanea, which is located at 1500 Old County Road, has signed a 35,572-square-foot lease with Empire Adventure Park for 10 years. The lease brings the once-struggling property up to 60 percent occupancy, Samanea said. It's expected to open in late 2022.

Samanea spent $30 million redesigning the Source Mall. It added two new entrances and completely renovated the exterior of the massive building.

“We are happy to welcome Empire Adventure Park,” said Dominic Coluccio, Samanea New York’s chief leasing and development officer. “There is currently a strong demand for landlords to create new, immersive experiences, and Samanea NY was in a position to accommodate an entertainment park... In less than two years, the team has doubled occupancy and is excited to continue to expand our tenant base and repurpose this iconic Westbury property to create a lifestyle destination that offers selective retail, entertainment, and international cuisine.”

The former Source Mall is located on 38 acres of land in Westbury, and spans more than 750,000 square feet. It still has tenants like Dave & Buster’s, The Cheesecake Factory, Bloomingdale’s Furniture Outlet and 99 Ranch Supermarket.

Empire Adventure Park will feature trampolines, ninja obstacle courses, a ropes course, climbing walls, augmented reality games and more. Empire will be located on the mall's second floor.
