New Urgent Care Facility Coming to East Meadow
Community Grand Opening will be Saturday, featuring an appearance from basketball coach Herb Williams.
A new urgent care facility is opening its doors in East Meadow.
American Family Care (AFC) is holding its grand opening on Thursday, according to Newsday. It will be the company's first Long Island location. The facility is located at 2310 Hempstead Turnpike.
The facility can take x-rays, and offers treatments for traumas (like cuts and fractures), acute illnesses, sports injuries, travel medicine and even minor surgery and lab work.

In addition to Thursday's grand opening, there will be a community grand opening event on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. According to Newsday, the event will feature face painting for kids, prizes and an appearance by Herb Williams, coach of the New York Liberty and former head coach of the New York Knicks.
