NUMC Opens New Primary Care Center
The new center will help alleviate crowding in the emergency room and provide better care for all patients.

Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday for the opening of its new Primary Medical Care Center.
The $19 million, state-of-the-art facility is expected to serve more than 300,000 residents a year. It will be open to everyone, as well as those that cannot afford the cost of medical care. The Center will reduce unnecessary emergency room visits. The over use of the Emergency Department in the United States is responsible for over $38 billion of wasteful spending a year.
“It is an honor to join everyone as we announce the opening of this facility, which will further advance medical services for residents of Nassau County,” said County Executive Edward Mangano. “This new Primary Care Center is focused on putting patients first—with dedicated teams of physicians delivering quality care to both children and adults. I’d like to thank Senator Hannon for helping to secure the funds needed to build this facility and serve our community.”
