Officers Break Up Knife Fight Outside Nassau Bar: Police

Police say two women were stabbing and slashing each other with knives after a fight inside the bar escalated.

UNIONDALE, NY — Nassau County police say they broke up a knife fight between two women in front of a Uniondale bar Sunday night.

According to police, officers responded to a call for a disturbance in front of Classico Bar, at 463 Jerusalem Ave., at 9:40 p.m. Police say that Sabrina Cummings, 37, of Oak Avenue, Hempstead, and Tanya James, 46, of Putnam Avenue, Roosevelt, got into a fight in the bar. Police say that James stabbed Cummings in the right arm, and then both women left the bar and started fighting in the street.

Once outside, police say both women were armed with knives and were stabbing and slashing each other. Police say they were both arrested without incident and were taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Cummings has been charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. James was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. They will both be arraigned when medically practical.
