Special Weather Statement Issued For Nassau, Western Suffolk

The National Weather Service has issued the following special weather statement for Nassau County and western Suffolk County:

...A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT WESTERN SUFFOLK AND NASSAU COUNTIES...

At 1014 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 miles north of Northport to near Cold Spring Harbor to Elmont. Movement was east at 25 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...Islip, Brentwood, Levittown, Freeport, Valley Stream, Commack, Huntington Station, Centereach, Deer Park, Lindenhurst, Plainview, Medford, Garden City, Massapequa and Hauppauge.
