State Trooper Injured In Crash On Wantagh Parkway
Police say the trooper was inside his parked cruiser when it was hit from behind.
WESTBURY, NY — A state trooper was injured when his car was hit by a driver when he was parked on the Wantagh Parkway late Thursday morning.
According to police, the trooper was parked in his patrol car on the southbound shoulder of the Wantagh State Parkway, south of exit W2 in Westbury, around 11:30 a.m. when he was hit from behind by a Chevrolet Blazer.
Police say the trooper suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Blazer was not injured.
