Stew Leonard's Donates Hundreds Of Turkeys
The turkeys were donated to charities across Long Island for Thanksgiving.
On Thursday, both Long Island Stew Leonard's locations, as well as the chains other locations upstate and in Connecticut, participated in the store's annual Turkey Brigade, donating thousands of turkeys to charities across the area.
This was the 38th year that Stew Leonard's has held the Turkey Brigade, but the first time that the East Meadow store, the chain's newest location, participated.
Stew Leonard's donated at total of about 2,500 turkeys from all of its stores. Here on Long Island, turkeys from the East Meadow store went to 16 local charities:
