Stew Leonard's Launches Home Delivery Service
Those who live close to one of the two L.I. stores can now order groceries online and have them delivered the same day.
Stew Leonard's has announced it has launched Stew's Fresh Delivery — a home delivery service — at its two Long Island stores. It means that those who live near one of the two locations will be able to have their groceries delivered without leaving their house.
The service, powered by Instacart, will allow those who live within 20 minutes or so of the stores, located in Farmingdale and East Meadow, to have food delivered the same day they order it. The service is also available in Stew Leonard's Yonkers store and its three stores in Connecticut.
"One hundred years ago, my grandfather delivered fresh milk from Norwalk’s Clover Farms dairy to our local customers," Stew Leonard, Jr., the president and CEO of the company, said in a release. "In 1969, my father first opened Stew Leonard’s and we now welcome more than 20 million shoppers to our six stores every year! But our family also recognizes that today’s shoppers value the convenience that comes along with home-delivery. We’re proud to now offer Stew’s Fresh Delivery!"

Customers can visit shop.stewleonards.com or download the Instacart app and enter their zip code to determine if they are within the Stew Leonard’s delivery area. Once signed in, shoppers can fill their virtual carts with groceries, including produce, bakery goods and selections from the prepared food case.
At check out, customers choose a delivery window within one or two hours, or up to seven days in advance. Once the order is placed and accepted, items are hand-picked by Instacart’s shoppers and delivered.

Customers who sign up for Stew’s Fresh Delivery by Feb. 1, 2018 using code "stewsexpress" will have free delivery on orders over $35 for up to a year. After the free trial, Instacart delivery is $5.99 on orders of $35 or more. Customers can also become Instacart Express members to continue getting free delivery once the trial has ended. Instacart Express members pay $14.99 a month or $149 a year for unlimited, free same-day delivery.
