Teen Charged With Attempted Murder For Shooting At Officers: PD
Police said three teens were driving by officers in Hempstead when one fired a gun, sparking a chase that ended in East Meadow.
EAST MEADOW, NY — Three teenagers were arrested early Sunday morning after police said one of them fired a gun at officers, sparking a chase that ended in East Meadow.
Police said the shooter, a 15-year-old boy, was charged with three counts of attempted murder.
Police said at about 11:25 p.m. Saturday, three plainclothes Hempstead Police Department officers were standing on the sidewalk in front of 100 Terrace Ave. Their badges were on display and they were wearing vests with "POLICE" lettering in clear view, police said.

The officers saw a black 2018 Toyota Camry heading north on Terrace Avenue, and as it passed them, police said the officers heard a gunshot. One of the officers saw the front passenger pulling his arm back into the car while holding a gun, police said.
The officers followed the Camry on a chase into East Meadow, where the Camry struck two parked cars on East Meadow Avenue before coming to a stop, police said. The 15-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy were all arrested at 12:59 a.m. Police did not identify any of the teens.

Police said the car was stolen from Suffolk County and there was a .40-caliber Taurus handgun in the car.
The 15-year-old boy was also charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The 16-year-old and 17-year-old were charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. All three were arraigned Sunday.
