Uniondale School District Welcomes Students and Staff as the 2019-2020 School Year Begins
Uniondale, N.Y. – The Uniondale Union Free School District recently welcomed back staff and students as the 2019-2020 school year commenced. Friends were reunited and those new to the District were warmly welcomed as the newest members of the Uniondale community. Students of all ages were eager to begin a new year of learning and fun experiences.
“The Uniondale Union Free School District is ready to welcome students for another exciting year for both new and returning students alike,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. William K. Lloyd. “From our graduating class of 2020, to our youngest students starting Kindergarten, we are confident that this year will be one of growth, knowledge and fun.”
In an effort to prepare students with the most cutting edge tools, the District is laying the foundation of becoming an Apple Distinguished District. Students in grade 6 have each been provided with brand new iPad’s to use throughout the school year. The use of the tablets in a learning environment integrates technology into the curriculum, providing students with extended opportunities to discover, learn and create.
