Accountants Resource Group Hosting "Women Leading the Way Summit"
ARG's Women Leading the Way Summit in Plainview to focus on Leveraging Diversity and Gender for Business and Organizational Success 11/7/18.
Plainview, October 24, 2018 – Accountants Resource Group (ARG) will host "Women Leading the Way Summit," an afternoon event focusing on: Leveraging Diversity and Gender for Business and Organizational Success. The Summit will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Four Points by Sheraton Plainview, Long Island, located at 333 South Service Road in Plainview. Tickets for the event are $95 and can be purchased at www.arg-ny.com/women. Special discounted registration of $45 is available for young professionals under the age of 30 . This event is ideal for men and women seeking to better understand today's work and social environments.
Carole Zimmer, an award-winning journalist and radio and television producer, who has covered politics, the United Nations, women's issues, business and the economy, will be the keynote speaker. She has been a reporter at the NBC and CBS radio networks, National Public Radio and Bloomberg News. She is the recipient of the 2015 Excellence in Financial Journalism Award for her series "Fall Down, Turnaround: Pivotal Moments in American Business."
Breakout sessions will address timely topics and will be hosted by women business who are recognized business leaders. Sessions and speakers include: "Negotiations," with Dr. Sue Moon, an Assistant Professor at the State University of New York SUNY Farmingdale' School of Business; "Women Owned Business Using WBE Certification and Working It," with Linda Gottesman, Founder of Altus Metal and Marble Maintenance; and "Running a Family Business," with Lauren Nichol, founder and owner of a storage and shipping solutions company and Erica Chase-Gregory, a Certified Business Advisor, who is the Regional Advisor of the Farmingdale Small Business Development Center. She serves on the board of the Children's Center and Auxiliary Service Corporation, both at Farmingdale State College. Following the breakouts, a speed networking session will be held and the event will conclude with a cocktail reception featuring cognac tasting.
