FARMINGDALE, NY — Chick-fil-A in Farmingdale is officially open for business. The popular chicken franchise opened its doors early Thursday morning, and the staff was met with over 100 hungry customers, many of whom spent the night camping out in the business' parking lot.

Operator Nolan Patrick awarded prizes of free Chick-fil-A for a year to 100 participants. The last participant was registered at 4:45 a.m. Many of the campers were students of Farmingdale State College, the franchise stated via press release. The first 100 all received a digital offer card for a year of free Chick-fil-A meals (52 meals with each consisting of a Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, medium Waffle Potato Fries and a medium drink).

As of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, one hour after the campout launched, nearly 30 people had arrived for the festivities. Campers set up tents, were served dinner through the drive-thru, played games and danced with the onsite DJ. Each person received a bedtime snack of hot chocolate and a Chick-fil-A Chocolate Chunk cookie. At the crack of dawn, the Chick-fil-A cow led everyone in a conga line through the restaurant.
