Christmas Week Brings Final Scramble, Generally Mild Weather

Here are the top stories and events we expect to be covering this week in and near Farmingdale.

1. Wednesday is Christmas, a national and, for many, a major religious holiday. We'll tell you what's open and what's closed Wednesday and ideas for last-minute shopping.

2. Farmingdale Schools are on their holiday break beginning today. Students don't return to school until Thursday, Jan. 2.

3. Christmas Day is also a big day at the movies. Several major films open that day; we'll tell you about them.

5. The NWS service says that while parts of the country are being hammered by poor weather, Long Island and vicinity should see moderate and seasonal temperatures and dry conditions at least until Friday. The exception is Monday, where there's a good chance of rain here.
