Crimes Nearby: Burglary Video Released, Crest White Strip Thief Nabbed

Recent criminal activity reported for Bellmore, Merrick, Levittown and East Meadow.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

Bellmore

  • A Bellmore man was arrested Thursday for allegedly stealing Crest White Strips from CVS and Rite Aid, according to police. Click here for more.
  • On Dec. 5 at midnight, unknown suspect(s) stole the plates from vehicle parked in the driveway on Bellmore Avenue.
  • On Dec. 14 at 4:10 a.m., William Carlo, 27, of Wantagh, was arrested at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Bellmore Avenue and charged with DWI and three violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
Merrick
  • On Dec. 12 at 6 p.m., unknown subject(s) broke into the front passenger side windows of both vehicles and removed cell phones while they were parked at the Children's Nest. iPads and handbags were taken.
  • On Dec. 6 at 2:23 p.m., an unknown suspect removed a package from a front porch on Leslie Lane.
East Meadow
  • Nassau County Police are seeking the public's help regarding a residential burglary on Ava Drive in late November. Click here for more.
Levittown
  • A Levittown man was arrested Monday afternoon after he allegedly stole an envelope off a front porch and then attempted to break into a Levittown home, cops said. Click here for more.
