LIRR Service Suspended On 6 Branches

BREAKING: The nasty weather has led to service suspensions on six LIRR branches during the evening rush.

If you need to take the Long Island Rail Road home this evening, you are going to want to take a few deep breaths. Service on the Oyster Bay, Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma and Hempstead branches is currently suspended due to weather-related signal trouble near Queens Village, the railroad said.

Additionally, Babylon and Montauk branches are suspended due to fallen utility wires across the tracks near Freeport.

"Customers are advised to delay traveling at this time," the LIRR said on its website.
