Educating the Present and Future Workforce
Providing a communications vehicle to make the connections necessary to fill the gaps in Long Island's workforce.

Lisa Strahs-Lorenc, President and Owner of Go Career Compass launched her new company on July 6. This unique educational initiative and workforce development direction answers the question that has been the challenge for Long Island for many years--How do we match our LI company/organization's workforce needs with the knowledge, education and skills of students, adults, job changers and the unemployed? With a background in career counseling and years of experience in workforce-related outreach, Ms. Strahs-Lorenc is the right fit to take on this challenge. To clarify, this is not a placement or employment agency, nor a head hunter.
There has always been a gap between industry needs and a qualified workforce. Connections are built on relationships and timing. The time is now and the relationships begin here. Why? We are faced with the most challenging time of getting people back to work. Jobs in the present and in the future may look very, very different. It is the responsibility and the obligation of industry leaders and company representatives to ensure that their workforce continues to sustain the growth and future development of their company and industry. If this doesn't occur, then there will continue to be a gap that cannot be filled. Therefore, if not now, then when?
