Farmingdale Repaving Project To Start; Lane Shifts Coming
Roadwork is set to begin next week. Here is what drivers should know.
FARMINGDALE, NY — The repaving of westbound Route 109 in Farmingdale Village is set to begin.
Overnight lane shifts are set to begin on Tuesday on Fulton Street between the Nassau/Suffolk County line and Route 24 (Conklin Street), according to the New York State Department of Transportation. Shifts are due to take place between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. for roughly two weeks as weather permits.
Electronic variable message signs have been posted in the area to keep drivers updated.

Motorists were asked by the state to follow the instructions of the flaggers for their safety and the safety of the highway work crew. Drivers are also urged to plan accordingly and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of one's driver's license.
