Dr. Jeff Hung, a Farmingdale resident, has been promoted to associate professor in the Mechanical Engineering Technology department at Farmingdale State College.
Dr. Hung began at the college in 1997 as Technical Specialist and Laboratory Supervisor
at the Institute of Research and Technology Transfer and the Mechanical Engineering Technology department. He became an adjunct in 2002 and joined the full-time faculty in 2011.

Dr. Hung earned a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stony Brook University. He is also a graduate of Farmingdale State College, with a BS in Manufacturing Engineering Technology. He has more than 20 years’ experience in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) applications.
Dr. Hung has authored two textbooks in Computer-Aided Design, which he updates regularly to reflect the latest technology in CAD. He also holds two patents in fuel cell technology and has published in more than 10 journal and conference publications.

He received the college’s Commendation and Recognition for Exceptional Service Award in 2011.
