Farmingdale Resident Wins Scholarship

Estee Lauder Honors Farmingdale State College Student

Farmingdale resident Katie Donnelly, a junior bioscience major at Farmingdale State College, has been awarded a scholarship by Estee Lauder Companies.

Donnelly was honored at the 2016 Long Island Business Hall of Fame Gala sponsored by the Farmingdale College Foundation.

Donnelly, a regular on Farmingdale’s President’s List for her academic achievements, wants to conduct research on human diseases. After she graduates from Farmingdale next fall, she plans to attend graduate school to study biochemistry and molecular biology.

In a letter of recommendation for the scholarship, one of her professors said Donnelly “had a natural talent in scientific research.” Another professor praised her for a “clear ability to succeed in an intellectually stimulating environment.”
