Farmingdale Town Hall On Bail Reform Laws Axed Due To Coronavirus

Nassau Legislator James D. Kennedy said he hopes to reschedule the event in the near future.

FARMINGDALE, NY — A town hall on New York State's bail reform laws scheduled for Thursday in Farmingdale was canceled due to the novel coronavirus, Nassau County Legislator James D. Kennedy announced on Facebook Wednesday afternoon.

Kennedy said the decision was made out of an abundance of caution and after consultation with Health Department officials.

"I look forward to rescheduling this important meeting in the near future," he wrote.

The town hall was slated for 7 p.m. Thursday at the South Farmingdale Fire Department at 819 Main St., Farmingdale. Kennedy was going to hold the meeting with fellow Nassau Legislator Rose Marie Walker and Lieutenant Brian Sullivan, president of the Nassau County Correction Officers Benevolent Association.
