FARMINGDALE, NY — The Farmingdale Village mayoral election is scheduled for Sept. 15 from noon to 9 p.m. at St. Kilian Auditorium, the Village announced in a news release. The auditorium will provide a larger public space for social distancing purposes. The Village is awaiting further guidance from the New York State Board of Elections.

Village residents will vote between incumbent mayor Ralph Ekstrand and former mayor George "Butch" Starkie.

The election was postponed numerous times; it was originally scheduled for March and then again in late April. The coronavirus pandemic is responsible for the delays.
