Step by Step Dance Studio celebrated 32 years and its relocation to 248 Main St., while restaurant 317 Main Street had a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday to mark its one-year anniversary.

"The celebration was postponed due to the coronavirus and we are so fortunate, not only for the delicious food, part of the Culinary Quarter downtown, but also to have such great community supporters, congratulations Joe Fortuna and Eric LeVine - and thanks for all of your contributions," Ekstrand said.

Students were welcomed back to school throughout the community by Ekstrand and the Farmingdale Board of Trustees. Those who recently donated school supplies to help locals also received a thank you.

A food collection box is at Village Hall for those who can donate non-perishable food to help people in need in the community, Ekstrand said. Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The Farmingdale Village mayoral election is scheduled for noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Kilian Auditorium, at 50 Cherry St. Ekstrand will run opposed by former mayor George "Butch" Starkie. Those looking for more information on the Farmingdale election can click here.

"On behalf of the Farmingdale Village Board of Trustees and myself, we thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation during this crisis, stay safe and healthy – brighter days are ahead!," Ekstrand said.
