Farmingdale's Alibi Speakeasy Wins 2 Bethpage Best Of LI Awards

FARMINGDALE, NY — Alibi Speakeasy & Lounge was quick to make an impact in Farmingdale and beyond. The night-life haunt was voted by Long Islanders as the best whiskey bar and the best signature cocktail in the Bethpage Best of Long Island 2021 awards.

Both award categories made their debut in this year's batch of winners.

"We can not even begin to thank you enough and would like to offer our sincerest gratitude!" Alibi wrote in a statement on Facebook. "A very special Thank You to our wonderful customers who have weathered this storm with us, we definitely could not have done this without you. Thank you to our entire staff for your dedication and for working so hard during these unprecedented times. Thank you to the musicians who have played here at Alibi. And thank you to the Village of Farmingdale for welcoming Alibi into your family!"

Alibi Speakeasy & Lounge opened its wall of doorknobs in October 2019 at 230 Main St. The coronavirus pandemic hit soon after, causing a multi-month shutdown just six months into Alibi's existence. However, the lounge, owned by Pete Dragone and Chris Molano and managed by Joey Ferraro, has survived and thrived based on the two awards it captured.

"This was most certainly the craziest ride of a first year in business and to have won these awards during this time has really made it all worthwhile," the business wrote. "We promise to continue to bring you the best cocktails and service around! Thank you again! What an honor this is!"

Alibi Speakeasy & Lounge offers cocktails, spirits, beer, wine and more. For grub, Alibi serves up appetizers such as mac & cheese bites, quesadillas, a jumbo pretzel, potstickers, etc. And for those who are still hungry and want dessert, the lounge also features a variety of cakes and ice cream.
