Farmingdale's CaraCara Celebrates 10th Anniversary
Additionally, Lithology's 5-year anniversary is coming up, the Farmingdale farmers market is in full swing and flowers are blooming.

FARMINGDALE, NY — One Farmingdale business celebrated an anniversary, another's is coming up, and summer is in full effect in the village as coronavirus infection rates continue to drop and more people get vaccinated.
"Such great news that COVID-19 infection rates have dramatically improved," Farmingdale Mayor Ralph Ekstrand wrote in his column. "Brighter days are finally here and many restrictions have been lifted by New York State."
At least 71 percent of New Yorkers have gotten at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while the number in Nassau County is around 78 percent.

"Thanks again to all of the frontline workers, healthcare workers, EMS, Fire Department, Police - residents, and everyone for their cooperation during the pandemic," Ekstrand said. "We look forward to seeing everyone around town, enjoying summer activities, gatherings and more!"
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Monday for CaraCara Mexican Grill's 10th anniversary. CaraCara is at 354 Main St.

"On behalf of the Board of Trustees and myself — congratulations to Tony Kathreptis and Peter Rousakis on their great success," Ekstrand wrote. "Tony and Peter express their thanks for the support they have received from everyone who has contributed to Caracara Mexican Grill’s incredible success over these past 10 years."
Lithology Brewing Company will celebrate five years in Farmingdale Village on July 10 from 3 to 11 p.m. with live music and more, according to Ekstrand. Tickets are available on Eventbrite. People can call 516-962-0585 for more details. Lithology is at 211A Main St.
Ekstrand urged residents to stop by the farmers market, held Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weather permitting on the Village Green. The markets, operated by Schneider's Farm, will run through Nov. 21.
Summer is officially here, and plants and flowers are blooming throughout the downtown.
"Special thanks to Trustee Cheryl Parisi, all beautification committee / volunteers, the DPW, and all others that helped with planting flowers - they look spectacular and certainly brighten our Village!" Ekstrand said.
The mayor also encouraged residents to enjoy a meal or shopping in the village to support local merchants.
In-person public meetings are once again allowed in New York, and beginning Monday, Farmingdale Village public meetings are set to be held in the courtroom at Village Hall, at 361 Main St.
The grand reopening of Farmingdale Village was celebrated by the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce on June 3. The event also marked the formation of the Farmingdale Business Improvement District.
