"I strongly believe education, early detection, and continuous dialogue has the power to reduce
the tragic impact breast cancer has on so many of our friends, families, and extended networks," stated Martinez. "All individuals in our communities deserve access to affordable, comprehensive healthcare in order to preemptively combat this terrible disease."
Sweeney added, "I am extremely fortunate that I had my routine mammogram in December of 2018, and I’m living proof that early detection can make all the difference. All women should have adequate access to healthcare, and by working together we can continue to help educate more people of the importance of preventative health measures and gain a better understanding of how to combat the high incidence of cancer on Long Island."
