U.S. Army veteran Christopher Collins will read his poetry at Farmingdale State College on Thursday, November 10. The reading will take place at 11 a.m. at the University Club in Knapp Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Collins, the 2015 winner of Farmingdale’s Paumanok Award, is a former military officer and a 12-year veteran of the US Army Reserve, having completed three overseas combat deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq. He has published one poetry chapbook, Gathering Leaves for War.
He lives in Independence, KY with his wife and two children. He is currently at work on a full-length poetry collection tentatively titled, My American Night.
