FARMINGDALE, NY — Joe Fortuna has been named the Farmingdale Outstanding Businessperson of the Year by the village's chamber of commerce.

Fortuna owns The Nutty Irishman and 317 Main Street, a pair of eateries in Farmingdale Village. The businessman has had to navigate both restaurants through the coronavirus pandemic that has taken a toll on the United States economy.

The Nutty Irishman focuses more on bar food and live music, while 317 Main Street is an American gastropub featuring a wide array of cuisine.

Fortuna was congratulated by Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino, Farmingdale Village Mayor Ralph Ekstrand and Trustee Cheryl Parisi, Assemblyman Michael Montesano, County Legislator James Kennedy and Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce President Joe Garcia.
