LI Amazon Driver Steals $5,600 Worth Of Items: Nassau Police

The items included a television and chair, police say. The man threatened to physically harm a co-worker, police say.

BETHPAGE, NY — An Amazon driver was arrested Friday after Nassau police said he stole $5,600 worth of merchandise from a company warehouse in Bethpage.

Officers on Wednesday began investigating the theft at the warehouse, located at 80 Grumman Road West, police said. As the merchandise was loaded onto a delivery truck, it was rerouted to a different location by the driver, Edward Seyfert, 48, of Deer Park, police said. Seyfert brought the stolen items to his home and threatened to harm a 28-year-old co-worker if he told authorities, police said.

Stolen items included a television and chair, police said. The co-worker was not hurt.

Seyfert faces charges of third-degree grand larceny and third-degree coercion. He was arraigned in Mineola.
