Lidl Announces Farmingdale Grand Opening

The first 100 customers will be presented with a special gift card ranging from $5 to $100 each.

FARMINGDALE, NY — Lidl announced the grand opening of its Farmingdale supermarket is scheduled for 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, according to a news release. The new store, at 501 Northwest Drive, will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The Farmingdale store will be Lidl’s 16th store on Long Island.

Customers will be able to take advantage of get-them-while-you-can grand opening special offers at the Farmingdale grand opening. The first 100 customers will be presented with a special gift card ranging from $5 to $100 each.

"I am excited to welcome Lidl to Farmingdale," said New York State Senator Kevin Thomas. "Lidl has been a pioneer in balancing quality food with low prices. Their wide array of low-cost, high-quality, US sourced products will be an asset to our community and I know I will be shopping here myself. We thank Lidl for investing in our community and look forward to growing together."

Lidl will provide healthy choices including organic and gluten-free options; an easy-to-shop layout; low prices; American products; European specialty items such as rare cheeses, cured meats and specialty sauces; a rotation of specials that come in each Wednesday for a limited time; bakery items; produce; flowers and more.

Lidl offers a starting wage of $16.50 an hour and comprehensive medical benefits for all team members regardless of the number of hours they work per week.

Lidl also partners with the John Theissen Children’s Foundation to raise money for kids in need on Long Island. During the grand opening, Lidl will donate 50 cents to the organization for every new myLidl member who signs up and sets the new store as their home store.

"I am excited for Lidl to open its new Farmingdale location," said New York State Assemblyman John Mikulin. "This store will bring more jobs and economic revenue to Farmingdale and will help bring a diverse source of groceries close to home for many constituents of the 17th Assembly District. Lidl will be a great addition to the Farmingdale community."
