Little Shop of Horrors, the hit musical comedy based on film director Roger Corman’s 1960 sci-fi B-movie classic, is coming to Farmingdale State College for four performances, November 10-12.
Presented by the college’s Backstage Theatre Company in the Little Theater at Roosevelt Hall, performances are November 10-12 at 8 p.m., and November 12 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased in advance, at http://www.farmingdale.edu/campus-life/student-activities. Admission is free for Farmingdale students with a valid ID.
Featuring a 60’s-style musical score by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, Little Shop of Horrors is a story about Seymour Krelborn, a non-descript little man who discovers a vampire-like plant in the floral shop where he works. Seymour thinks the plant – which thrives on human blood – will be his ticket out of obscurity – until he learns that the extraterrestrial creature is intent on world domination.
