Man Arrested In Connection With East Farmingdale Drag Racing: PD
Police had received numerous complaints from the community before investigating the drag racing.
EAST FARMINGDALE, NY — A man was arrested on Sunday in connection with drag racing in East Farmingdale, Suffolk police said.
Officers from the First Precinct performed an undercover drag racing investigation at Allen and Adams boulevards following numerous complaints from the community, police said.
Zain Javaid, 23, of Farmingdale, was driving a 2013 Audi AS4 westbound on Allen Boulevard, and he was speeding while racing another vehicle at around 2:40 p.m., police said. Javaid was arrested, and his car was seized under Suffolk County Law for being involved in a speed contest, police said.

Javaid was charged with unlawful speed contest and reckless driving. He was also issued summonses for multiple traffic violations. Javaid is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
