Man Robs Someone At Gunpoint For Sneakers In Bethpage: Police
A man displayed a handgun and demanded back the sneakers he had just sold to someone through a Facebook Marketplace deal, police say.

BETHPAGE, NY — A Hicksville man was arrested on Saturday in connection with a robbery that happened last month in Bethpage, Nassau police said.
A 20-year-old man agreed to buy sneakers from Sean Jones, 20, over Facebook Marketplace, police said. After exchanging texts, the two met near Baldwin Place and Broadway around 4:45 p.m. March 31, police said. After the payment was complete and the sneakers were exchanged, Jones displayed a handgun and took the sneakers back, police said. He drove off in a red Pontiac, police said. The other man was not injured.
Jones was arrested at his home at 3:50 p.m. Saturday, police said. Jones also had an open warrant from Lynbrook Village, police said.

Jones was charged with first-degree robbery and criminal possession of a firearm. He was scheduled for arraignment on Sunday in Mineola.
