Man Swipes Pocketbook From Woman At Farmingdale Supermarket: NCPD
The man took her purse out of her Stop & Shop cart and rode off on his bicycle before he was arrested, police say.
FARMINGDALE, NY — A South Farmingdale man faces several grand larceny charges after he stole a woman's pocketbook at a local supermarket Saturday, Nassau police said.
A woman in her 40s was at Stop & Shop, at 55 Motor Ave., when John Heckman, 42, swiped her pocketbook from her cart before riding away on a bicycle, police said. A Nassau police medic saw Heckman on Melville Road shortly after and requested officers to respond, police said. Heckman was arrested without further incident, police said.
Heckman was charged with nine counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and three counts of petty larceny. He was scheduled to be arraigned Sunday in Mineola.
